About House of Jellyology

We are jellyfish enthusiasts who have been conducting research in the Indo-Pacific since 2016. Our research focuses on taxonomy, ecology, fisheries, and many other aspects of jellyfish around the world.

In our research, gelatinous zooplankton in any invertebrate phyla is considered ‘Jellyo’, which is a term for gelatinous zooplankton used by Sri Lankan fishermen. The main focused gelatinous groups are from the phylum Cnidaria, phylum Ctenophora, and the phylum Chordata. In addition to research, we are responsible for providing knowledge-sharing services to interested parties worldwide.

Studying Jellyfish

Studying jellyfish provides valuable insights into one of the oldest creatures in aquatic ecosystems. By exploring their biology, behavior, and role in both marine and freshwater environments, scientists deepen our understanding of how jellyfish thrive and interact within these ecosystems.
